A Nice Isolated top design which incorporates a top layer suspended on Sorbothane balls within a heavier main plinth. Since the Sorbothane is squishy, the top would sag on the side where the Garrard sits. To counteract this, the balls rest on adjustable platforms to enable fine adjustment of height. This means the top can be nice and flush against the surrounding plinth for a nice crisp and neat finish.

Levelling of top is performed by adjusting these bolts from underneath.

Unfortunately this was the last of that nice Ebony veneer so I am on the lookout for more!
This is my plinth and I just wanted to say how fantastic it is. The photos don’t really do justice to the wonderful finish of the ebony, which is a great match for the cream 301. The top plate is a perfect fit, how Russ managed to get such a fit with out snagging the outer plinth and matching the veneer I’ll never know.
